Chris is a bird/butterfly enthusiast, amateur photographer, and avid hiker. He is currently working on several butterfly projects, including an exhibit at the Pacific Grove Natural History Museum and a “Butterflies of Monterey County” web site.   Chris has lived in the Monterey Bay area for nearly 30 years . . in Salinas where he and his wife May raised two daughters, and for the last 5 years in Monterey.  Since retirement he and May have enjoyed nature travels throughout Central and South America.  He also loves to hike the hills and canyons of the Ventana Wilderness in search of butterflies.  One of his dreams, to hike the Pacific Crest Trail Mexico to Canada, had to be aborted last year due to plantar fasciitis; he vows to try again.  To keep fit, he jogs and attends regular yoga classes in Monterey with May.  Chris is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz and has a Masters in Ornithology.
